Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Everyone (who likes chocolate) loves chocolate chip cookies. Or that is my opinion at least. My friends loved them, I would simply make the recipe off of the Nestle Chocolate Chips bag, but I started to think that their could be better option out there. And I wanted to make giant cookies. Attempting to make cookies with the Nestle recipe did not go as planned, the cookie dough was not strong enough to hold under the pressure of the weight. I found a new recipe, “Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip cookies” which allowed for giant cookies to be created.
The idea of this came from my friend Ryan; his birthday was coming up, and he wanted cookies. I decided to make a “monster cookie”, which is different than a giant cookie. First taking a handful of the cookie dough and then flattening it out on the baking sheet. The next step is to take chocolate chips from the bag and pour them on top of the dough, creating a mound, so to speak. Then taking another handful of cookie dough and flattening it out, it creates a cover over the chocolate chips and bottom layer of dough, pushing the two together. Making a giant cookie filled with chocolate, this is not suggested for those certain people who cannot handle massive amounts of sweets. The cookie turned out wonderful, so I continue to use the recipe for church bake sells and for my friends and family. Whoever loves cookies, loves them big, these are about an inch high and the size of a paper plate.
For this recipe you need: a mixing bowl, bowls, a cookie sheet, spoon, and spatula. Ingredients needed: flour (adding a bit more), baking soda, salt, butter, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla (adding more never hurts), eggs, and of course lots and lots of chocolate chips.
I honestly have never eaten one, I refuse. Maybe it’s because I know what goes into making it? Or the fact that it is way too much chocolate for me to handle? It smells delicious and quite heavenly, looking amazing and although it is possibly intimidating by its size... it has the all of the gooey chocolate chips fresh out of the oven, taunting the consumer to bite into the vast amount of chocolaty goodness (or death from sugar) inside the cookie. It is, in itself, and invitation to take a bite.
